Water: What is it Good for?

Chad's aunt posted this on her facebook page and I really liked it. I have no idea who Dr. A is but it still makes sense.

From Dr. A on water:

Many decide to increase their water intake but few stick with it. That’s understandable. During the first few days of drinking more water than your body is accustomed to, you’re running to the bathroom constantly. This can be discouraging and it can certainly interfere with an otherwise normal day at work. It seems that the water is coming out just as fast as it’s going in, and many people decide that their new hydration habit is fruitless.

Have courage! What is really happening is that your body is flushing itself of the water it has been storing throughout all those years of “survival mode”. It takes a while, but this is a great thing happening to you. As you continue to give your body all the water it could ask for, it gets rid of what it doesn’t need. It gets rid of the water it was holding onto in your ankles and your hips and thighs, maybe even around your belly! You are excreting much more than you realize. Your body figures it doesn’t need to save these stores anymore; it’s trusting that the water will keep coming, and if it does, eventually, the flushing will cease, allowing the human to return to a normal life. This is called the “breakthrough point.”

My Desire to Try!

Feeling like a unhealthy blog. I am in need of getting my body moving. I want to lose 15 pounds and tone up some muscles ( The troubled mid section of my body). I found a dvd on our movie shelf that is a work out from weightwatchers that has 5 different exercises that are 20 minutes each. I am going to do this dvd once a day either at 5am or at 7:30pm. I will start this Monday March 5, 2012. This is just to get me started and back into the habit of doing exercise. This is my desire now to stick with it. I am feeling a little weak in this area.

Peace of mind and body

Well, I've going strong for two weeks now.  I found a pilates workout that I love! Yoga is good, except it starts to hurt my wrists and ankles.  So, I have only been doing yoga once or twice a week.  I have also tried several cardio/weight lifting workouts.  I really like to use weights. I have shed five pounds and I'm seeing some shrinkage in my trouble areas.  So Hooray for visible results.  I was beginning to wonder if I would just tone the muscles underneath all the flab, but still retain the fattyness.  Working out every day has really improved my overall state of being.  I feel healthy, I have energy throughout the day, I crave healthy food and I don't get caught up in depressive thoughts/tendencies and much.  Gotta keep this up!
This week Caitlin is coming for a day or two, and we will be doing P90X.  I will be hurting I'm sure, but it will be fun to have a workout buddy. :)

P90X flop; Yoga win

Well, P90X didn't work out for me.  I lost my steam before I even got started.  However, I now have all the equipment needed if I ever chose to go that route again. Ha! Instead I have been working out to several of the Crunch series videos.  Available on Netflix.  This works really well with my slightly lazy nature.  I don't have to hassle with putting in a dvd. So far, I have been doing workouts at least three times a week.  I haven't seen "results" yet.  But, I've only been doing this for three weeks.  This week I worked out twice to yoga/pilates. And once to cardio arobics.  I also bought some protein shake powder.  Which is a good motivator to get the workouts done.  I reward myself with a shake! How great is that?!
